Women of Haiti carry the past, the present, and the future with beauty, laughter, strength, and tears. It’s not easy.
There are many challenges, like the economy, food instability, gas shortages, domestic and sexual abuse, political unrest, gang violence, and the coronavirus. The loss of their president still real and raw brings forth uncertainty.
This past week has been stressful and confusing.
Everything is very expensive right now. We are trying to have an emergency supply of food, medication, and medical supplies, as what happens to the supply and the economy in the coming days and weeks are unknown.
As we all wonder and wait for what is next to come, the future quite literally joins us.
Birth is happening day and night at MamaBabyi.
More than ever the women are flocking to our gates, and every new day brings a line of people waiting for care from the skilled midwives at MamaBaby.
We are bursting at the seams, and just next door to us, the construction continues, as we work towards putting the roof on the first floor of the new birth center.
We are short $15,000 to finish the first floor and we need $5,000 for the emergency supply of food, medication, and medical supplies.
We ask this week and in the the coming weeks that you lift Haiti up during these trying times and please donate if you are in a position to do so.
